Coyote Will Attack - Should We Ask DNR For Assistance?

Northland members are advised that the coyote that seems to have a liking for all things Northland should be considered a threat to their pets - today we received notice that a member's dog was attacked on the golf course. Although coyote's are wary of humans, they will attack small pets - even those that may be leashed near your home.
As the grounds crew has noted, this coyote has made a habit of taking tee markers and cart signs. Now, some members are reporting the coyote has begun taking their golf balls from the fairways.
As humorous as some might consider some of the coyote's actions, there is some concern that the club should request DNR assistance before any more serious event occurs. What do you think we should do, if anything? We'd welcome your comments and suggestions. We've also posted a poll on the right hand side of the page for you to participate in. Let us know your thoughts.

I don't claim to be a DNR, coyote or a pet behavior expert but my recommendation would be to keep your pets off of NCC property at all times. Obviously it's way too risky to allow pets to excercise at NCC.

It's rumored that there have been no coyote sightings at any area PARKS and they have neat little bags to pick up after your pet!

No one should be walking pets at Northland anyway. Instead of the focus towards the DNR, we should be focusing on stoping people from bringing their pets on the course for a walk.

Shoot it.

Shoot the idiot that said "shoot it"! I agree with the "keep your pets off the property" suggestion.
I think it's great they're here. Since we don't see too many foxes around anymore since the Mange outbreak years ago, there needs to be some other "regulators" of the deer and rabbits. And, any other illegally trespassing animals. There's something called "balance of nature" that humans think they can control. Let nature happen! Only a handful will ever see the Brush Wolf anyway. Check out the "Darwin Awards" to see how mother nature weeds out the "undeserving" humans as well.

All pets must be kept off the golf course. No exceptions.

As for the coyote, as long as he/she is not a threat to humans, I say live and let live. We've got to respect our wildlife.
