Understanding Northland's Organic Practices

Over the past year or so there, Superintendent Chris Tritabaugh has spent considerable time discussing the use of organic products at Northland. The use of these products is focused on create a healthy micro-biological population in our soils and thereby allowing that population to "work" for you. Much of the inspiration for this "organic" program came from an interview with Golf Course Superintendent, Scott Anderson from Huntingdon Valley Country Club (18th hole is pictured), located in the Philadelphia area. The interview can be read by clicking here.

Scott Anderson has been using and succeeding with organic programs at Huntingdon Valley for roughly 25 years. Chris recently found a four part video of a talk Scott had with a group of golf course architecture enthusiasts. In the video Scott explains the practices he has been using and what they have done for the golf course. Many of the practices he speaks of are practices that are in place at Northland. Here's the link to the videos.
